Twenty Candidates Selected For Semifinal of Voice of Alhamra

LAHORE– Lahore Arts Council’s singing competition titled “Voice of Alhamra” audition has been completed in which 20 candidates were selected for the semifinal of VOA which will be held today at Alhamra Arts Centre the Mall.

Singers from all over Pakistan participated enthusiastically in the audition of “Voice of Alhamra” and sang different songs to impress the judges.

The renowned singers like, Hamid Ali Khan, Tarranum Naz and Waris Baig will perform the duties of judges in “Voice of Alhamra”.

Executive Director Lahore Arts Council Athar Ali Khan specially participated in the auditions of “VOA” and watched all the performances of young singers, saying Alhamra is giving the future star an opportunity to showcase his singing talent.

He said Alhamra platform is providing young people with immense opportunities in all fields of singing, painting, Art Theater, literature and other fields of fine arts.

He said that 20 singers have been selected for the semi-final and that the winner of “Voice of Alhamra ” will get Rs50,000, second position holder will receive Rs25,000 while third-place will get Rs20,000 along with certificates.

Director Arts and Culture Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi welcomed singers from all over Pakistan to participate in the “Voice of Alhamra”, and expressed his best wishes to all singers.

He said Alhamra always created opportunities for youth to move forward.

The semi-finals of “VOA” will be held on Oct 23 and the final will take place on 24th Oct. The cash prizes and shields will be distributed among the finalists at the end of the competition.— PRESS RELEASE
