TikToker Imran known as ‘Cheetah’ arrested for May 9 violence in Peshawar
LAHORE MIRROR — TikTok personality Imran Khan, known as “Cheetah,” has been apprehended for his alleged involvement in the May 9 violence in Peshawar.
Subsequent to his arrest, law enforcement presented him before a local anti-terrorism court (ATC), which granted the police a one-day physical remand for Imran Khan.
According to authorities, Imran Khan is accused of assaulting police and government structures using a slingshot. A video depicting his actions had circulated widely on social media. Consequently, a case was filed against him at the Razzaq Shaheed Police Station.
Earlier after arrest of PTI chairman Imran Khan, the party workers countrywide protested and erupted violence across the country.
Senior members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party have said that a six-member body will gather and decide upon their next move.
The committee, formed by Khan in March over his fears of being arrested, was given the power to handle party matters in his absence, and is headed by senior Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
Qureshi called Khan’s arrest “illegal” and urged the public to take to the streets to protest the court’s latest decision.
