LAHORE MIRROR (Monitoring Desk)– The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Sargodha claims to have arrested Muhammad Safdar, a member of banned organization Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ), and recovered a suicide jacket and two hand grenades from him.

The arrest was possible in the result of an effective intelligence based operation conducted by a CTD team.

According to a CTD’s spokesman, the suspect named Muhammad Safdar has been arrested from Pull Seemnala Chak 104 near Sargodha Bypass.

During initial investigation, the terrorist confessed that his mission was to target a senior officer of intelligence agency.

However, CTD averted the attack by taking prompt action. The aforementioned terrorist is linked with LeJ as well as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

A case has been registered against him under 7-Anti Terrorism Act and other sections for further investigation so that information could be gathered to prevent other such attacks in future.

The IG Punjab lauded the CTD efforts and directed all his wings to remain on high alert during Eid-ul-Azha to avert all such efforts/planning that could sabotage the peaceful environment.
