Sindh Excise collected Rs0.81 Million Till April: Mukesh Chawla
93% tax targets have been achieved in ten months. More than 100% tax targets will be achieved by the end of the financial year. Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation

KARACHI– Provincial Minister for Excise & Taxation and Narcotics Control Department & Parliamentary Affairs Mukesh Kumar Chawla, regarding the tax collection of Excise and Taxation Department from July 2020 to April 2021, has said that in the current financial year, Sindh Excise and Taxation Department has collected a total of Rs. 81569.844 million while in the same period, tax of Rs. 64536.673 million was collected during the last financial year. He further said that from July 2020 to April 2021, Rs. 7886.617 million was collected under motor vehicle tax, while Rs. 67218.742 million was collected under infrastructure cess and Rs. 1559.460 million under property tax.
Provincial Minister for Excise & Taxation and Narcotics Control Department & Parliamentary Affairs Mukesh Kumar Chawla said that Rs 494.853 million was collected in professional tax, Rs 93.017 million in cotton fee, and Rs 30.213 million in entertainment duty respectively. He said that the overall situation of tax collection was satisfactory.
So far in the current financial year, 93% tax targets had been achieved. Mukesh Kumar Chawla said he hoped to achieve more than 100 percent tax targets by the end of the current financial year. He directed the officers to expedite the collection of taxes and was happy that the performance of the officers and staff was commendable.
