September 7 Declared a Public Holiday in Lahore

LAHORE MIRROR — Punjab interim Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has declared a public holiday in Lahore on September 7 (Thursday) in honour of the annual Urs (death anniversary) of Data Ganj Bakhsh Syed Ali Hajwari (RA).

During a visit to Data Darbar, CM Naqvi announced that the three-day Urs ceremony would commence on Tuesday (tomorrow).

CM Naqvi expressed his commitment to enhancing the arrangements for this event, which will span from Tuesday to Thursday. “We have also held discussions with the commissioner regarding the langar khana to ensure that all attendees can partake in the celebrations,” he stated.

Furthermore, provisions will be made for mehfil-e-samaa, featuring performances by the finest qawwals.

Emphasizing the importance of top-notch arrangements, CM Naqvi reiterated their dedication to ensuring the best possible accommodations for Chehlum, processions, and the Urs itself. In terms of traffic management, he assured that a comprehensive plan is in place, and if security clearances are obtained, adequate parking facilities will be provided.
