LAHORE: The Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA), in collaboration with Jahan Pakistan Digital, will hold a special information and awareness workshop in Lahore tomorrow for journalists and representatives associated with digital media.
Experts will provide detailed briefings on the Ravi River, urban development, infrastructure, climate change, sustainable development and corporate social responsibility (CSR). Around 25 to 30 selected journalists and digital media representatives will participate in the workshop.
According to details, the workshop will begin with an opening address by Colonel Abid Latif. This will be followed by a briefing by Director Hydrology Muhammad Mohsin on “Ravi Flowing Through Times: A Journey in Hydrology.”
Deputy Director Infrastructure Ali will speak on RUDA’s development journey and infrastructure under the title “RUDA — From Footprints to Foothold”, while Ms Ahad, a representative of the Climate Change Department, will highlight the role of climate change in RUDA’s sustainable development.
Director CSR Ms Fatima will brief participants on RUDA’s CSR programmes and its White, Green and Light Green portfolios.
During the programme, journalists will also have an opportunity to meet RUDA’s Chief Executive Officer and engage in a direct discussion with him.
A key feature of the workshop will be a three-hour field visit titled “Walk the Talk”, during which media representatives will visit Package 6, Package 7 and 19-ACB to observe development work on the ground.
Jahan Pakistan Digital Project Head Farrukh Shahbaz Waraich, senior anchorperson and session moderator Hamza Sajid Rana, and digital media specialist Faisal Waqas Jutt will assist with the media and communication aspects of the workshop.
According to the organisers, the initiative aims to promote effective communication between the media and development institutions, strengthen field-based journalism and increase public awareness of RUDA’s development and sustainable projects.
