Rescue Lost Helpline 1192 Formally Inaugurated At PES Headquarters

The service will reunite lost victims of accidents, disasters an other emergency situations with their parents, says Director General PES (Rescue 1122)

LAHORE– The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Thursday launched Rescue Lost Helpline-1192 to reunite lost emergency victims of accidents, disasters and other emergencies with their families.

The service is dealing around 3,000 accidents and emergencies across Punjab daily and often receives unattended unconscious or dead victims of accidents, emergencies and disasters.

Therefore, a dire need was felt to establish a mechanism for reuniting the unattended victims with their families, for which LOST Helpline 1192 is being launched, where a person can get information or assistance if any member of the family gets lost due to any accident, emergency or disaster.

Those views were expressed by Founder Director General, Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Dr Rizwan Naseer while launching the Rescue Lost Helpline-1192 at the Rescue Headquarters here on Thursday.

Speaking to media, Dr Rizwan Naseer said in case of major disaster/emergencies, the situation becomes worst resulting to severe panic due to non-availability of such services to find lost victims.

He maintained that Rescue 1122 Emergency Service has become the leading emergency service of Pakistan having infrastructure across Punjab as well as in KPK, GB and Azad Kashmir which can be effectively utilized to reunite families travelling in between province for business or tourism etc, adding that so, a comprehensive mechanism was a dire need of the hour.

He added the Rescue 1122 has allocated 1192 number for Rescue Lost Helpline from Pakistan Telecommunication Authority and launched initially with three lines for 24/7 services to deal with lost victims of emergencies. The families of lost victims can seek help to locate his/ her lost family member on this helpline.

In this regard a purpose built software application has been developed to have complete information regarding lost victims, searching data from other sources and reunited victims’ detail, DG highlighted.

The DG Rescue Punjab appealed the citizens of Pakistan to dial 1192 in case of any lost emergency victim and requested media representative to highlight the scope of Rescue Lost Helpline-1192 across Pakistan.— PRESS RELEASE
