QEC of Dow University Excels In Achieving Target Parameters Of HEC Pakistan

KARACHI–Dow University of Health Sciences, Karachi is proud to announce that the QEC of DUHS has excelled in achieving the target parameters of the Higher Education Commission, Pakistan. In recognition of the quality initiatives and their implementation measures within the University, the Quality Assurance Agency-QAA of HEC conferred a shield of ‘Excellent Performance” to the entire team of QEC-DUHS, which was received by Director QEC, Ms. Sanam Soomro and Deputy Director QEC, Ms. Shehla Naz. This was awarded for the year 2018-2019 at its annual QAA / QECs Progress Review Meeting and Training in March 2021, at CIME Aga Khan University, Karachi.
The QEC- DUHS participates each year in progress review meetings in order to discuss the performance of the previous year and its progress in achieved targets as set by the Quality Assurance Agency, HEC (Islamabad). This year the Progress Review Meeting and Training for Quality Enhancement Cells equipped the QEC team on the new Institutional Performance Evaluation (IPE) measures/standards and the guidance on the implementation of the new Ph.D. policy.
In terms of Online Readiness to offer quality programs through online means during the COVID period, the QEC-DUHS along with the Directorate of Distance Learning Education was also able to successfully meet the targets set by the Quality Assurance Agency-HEC, with an overall preparedness of 91% to be able to offer online courses and classes.
We’re honored to announce that our academic excellence has earned us a place in the QS World University Rankings by Subject this year. The University has achieved the distinct status of being ranked in the 2021 QS World University Ranking by Subject in Medicine, with a World ranking of 601-650, and a domestic rank of 2. The graduates of Dow University in medicine and the allied health sciences are successfully working in national and international organizations and serving humanity with a commitment to changing and saving lives, as per the Vision of the University.
