Punjab Ombudsman Provides Rs130 Million Worth Relief Against Public Complaints

LAHORE– Ombudsman Punjab Major (retired) Azam Suleman Khan has provided financial relief worth over Rs130 million against various complaints submitted by the affectees.

On the direct intervention of Ombudsman Punjab Major (R) Azam Suleman Khan, a big
financial relief of rupees 13 crores 8 lac 78 thousand 811 has been provided to the
complainants of land retrieval, payment of outstanding bills of medicines provided to
hospital by private pharmaceutical company, family pension restoration, gratuity, financial
assistance, group insurance and leave encashment.

According to details, some Taimoor Akram resident of Narowal submitted his application
in Ombudsman Office having request to clear encroachments along both sides of the road
from Kotli Bajwa towards Narowal via muhalla Farooq Ganjj.

He further said that the local residents illegally expanded their houses and shops due to which the local community facing serious problems and difficulties in their mobility.

On the directive of the Ombudsman Punjab, Assistant Commissioner Narowal started operation against these
illegal encroachers and 41 marla encroached land, costing 2 crores 56 lac 25 thousand
has been retrieved and the road becomes widened and sufficient enough for the local
community.

In an another complaint submitted by Muhammad Tayyab Azeem Tariq of a private
pharmaceutical company complained against Mayo Hospital administration for not
making his outstanding payments of rupees 1 crore 70 lac 69 thousand 500 against 3500
doses of Albumin Human 50ml 20, which were supplied by his company. He further
requested to the Ombudsman to make his payment which was addressed as the
company desired.

Similarly, 129 students of University of Engineering and Technology Multan filed an
application with a request to refund their fee which was deposited as additional amount
in University but yet to be waiting for refund of 72 thousand rupees of each student.

On
the directive of Ombudsman Punjab, this outstanding amount rupees 92 lac 88 thousand
was paid to all 129 affectee students.

In other miscellaneous applications regarding gratuity, family pension, financial
assistance, leave encashment, GP fund, group insurance an amount of rupees 7 crores
88 lac 96 thousand 311 rupees has been provided to all complainants.— PRESS RELEASE
