LAHORE MIRROR– The Punjab Revenue Authority successfully collected 31% higher revenue during the first quarter of Financial Year 2022-23 by collecting Rs.42,899 million in comparison with last year’s corresponding period at Rs.32,706 million.

The current Financial Year augurs well for the Authority as it recorded 31.10%, 41.22% and 17.63% increase in revenue for the months of July, August and September respectively according to a reliable source. During the last month of the quarter, PRA collected an amount of Rs.14,248 million which is 18% higher than the last year.

According to PRA’s spokesperson, the persistent growth in PRA’s collection clearly reflects the success of Punjab Government’s policy of facilitation and collaboration with stake holders.

The consistent increase in PRA’s revenue also seems to be promising in achieving the budgetary target of Rs.190,000 million assigned by the Punjab Government.

It is worth mentioning that during first quarter, PRA did not adopt any coercive measure and has relied solely on stakeholder engagement and taxpayer education.

During the first quarter, the stakeholder’s involvement and taxpayer education also resulted in expanding the tax base and over 2500 new taxpayers were registered on voluntary basis which is also great achievement of PRA.— PRESS RELEASE
