PFA Seals 5 Food Points in Lahore for Violating SOPs
LAHORE– The Punjab Food Authority on Monday sealed five food point including a recognized restaurant over non-compliance SOPs of the authority.
Director General Punjab Food Authority Rafaqat Ali Nissoana said that Inayat Sweets in Ravi Town, Pak Shireen Sweets & Bakers Production Unit had sealed over the usage of non-food graded colours.
In Badami Bagh, Shafqat Sweets and Taqwa Swets were sealed over non- compliance previous instructions and notification. During the raid PFA safety teams found poor arrangements of cleanliness, excess of insects and rodents over there.
In Johar Town, Novu Restaurant was sealed over finding guilty for using expired food items in eatables. Food workers were using loose spices, opened dustbins and poor arrangements of cleanliness witnessed.
DG PFA further said that a Nashta Point was sealed in Faisal Town over placing prepared food items on the ground. Washing clothes in kitchen area, smoking and uncleaned food handlers were basic cause of being sealed.
He added that it is mandatory to abide PFA rules and laws to run a food business across the province. There will be no compromise on food quality, strict action will be taken against poor arrangements if witnessed.— PRESS RELEASE
