LAHORE MIRROR – The wife of former Punjab Chief Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf President, Pervez Elahi, has filed an appeal in the Supreme Court challenging the Lahore High Court’s verdict.
The petition includes the caretaker Punjab Government, Interior Secretary Punjab, and IG Punjab as parties.
The appeal contends that the Lahore High Court had dismissed Parvez Elahi’s petition as ineffective, leading to his re-arrest despite previous orders for his release.
The petition highlights that the High Court failed to scrutinize the circumstances surrounding Parvez Elahi’s arrest.
In this plea to the Supreme Court, the release of Parvez Elahi is sought, along with a request to prevent his arrest in any future cases.
Furthermore, the court is urged to issue orders prohibiting the arrest of Parvez Elahi even in unidentified cases, and to mandate his appearance before the court.
