Pakistan Railways CEO Listens to Problems of Railways Employees, General Public

LAHORE–  Following the direction of Prime Minister Imran Khan and the special instruction of the Federal Minister for Railways, Chief Executive Officer Pakistan Railways Nisar Ahmad Memon on Tuesday listened to the problems of Railways employees and the general public in connection with Railways during a Facebook Live Open E-Kachehri at the Railway Headquarters office Lahore.

Relevant officers were also present on the occasion.

Chief Executive Officer Pakistan Railways Nisar Ahmad Memon said that the main purpose of the Facebook Live Open E-Kachehri was to bridge a link between Pakistan Railways and the people so that immediate resolution of their problems could be carried out.

In this open E-Kachehri, the Railway employees told CEO/Senior General Manager regarding payment of gratuity amount, allotment of quarters, departmental promotion, regularization of TLA & PM package employees in Railways & other transfer and posting issues.

The Chief Executive Officer Pakistan Railways Nisar Ahmed Memon assured them to resolve their all issues in accordance with the policy of Pakistan Railways.

The people demanded the Chief Executive Officer to run more passenger trains on different sections and improvement in train timings, shortage of bogies, cleanliness issues in trains, vending stalls, Railway parking stands and display of rate lists.

The Chief Executive Officer Pakistan Railways while replying to the queries of people assured them to address their grievances and a possible solution to their problems.He said in order to follow the Covid-19 SOPs, the number of trains have been reduced.

However more trains would be run in case of improvement amidst the prevailing pandemic situation, he assured. He further directed to display price lists on all vending stalls and parking areas.

Replying to another query he said that advertisement of recruitment of employees on various 180 posts has been published. It may be mentioned here that the Facebook Live open E-Kachehri continued for two hours (i.e. 12:00p.m to 02:00p.m).

A large number of people countrywide hailing from Railways and other walks of life witnessed the online-event. More than 2300 people expressed their views and conveyed their messages to the CEO. Among others around 3000 people feed backed their opinion while 7100 people live streamed it.

The Chief Executive Officer Nisar Ahmed Memon said that in future, the process of addressing the complaints of the Railway employees and general public would also be continued so that their issues could be resolved immediately.— PRESS RELEASE
