LAHORE MIRROR (Monitoring Desk)– The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) Thursday notified an increase of Rs3.2780 per unit in electricity tariff for K-Electric consumers on account of fuel charges adjustment (FCA) for January 2022.

According to a notification issued in this regard, the amount will be recovered from consumers in the bills of April 2022.

The increase is expected to have an impact of Rs4.18 billion for K-Electric, including GST.

“The FCA would apply to all the consumer categories except lifeline consumers,” the notification read.

The said adjustment shall be shown separately in the consumers’ bills on the basis of units billed to the consumers in the respective3 months to which the adjustment pertains.

“While effecting the FCA, K-Electric shall keep in view and strictly comply with the orders of the courts notwithstanding this order,” it added.

It is worth mentioning that in February, PM Imran Khan had announced the slashing of electricity tariff by Rs5 per unit as part of a series of measures to bring some relief to the public.
