MoU Signed To Promote Local IT Industry, Start-ups And Freelancers in Punjab

LAHORE– A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Punjab IT Board and Pakistan Software Export Board at Arfa Software Technology Park to promote local IT industry, start-ups and freelancers. The MoU was signed by Chairman PITB Azfar Manzoor and Managing Director PSEB Usman Nasir.
Provincial Minister for IT and Higher Education Raja Yasir Humayun Sarfaraz graced the occasion as the chief guest while DGP ITB Sajid Latif, Director PSEB Salman Hassan, and other officers also attended the function. Institutions will launch various ICT-related training programs, entrepreneurship, and incubation center development programs to promote the IT industry in Punjab as well as provide the necessary support to freelancers and startups.
On the occasion, Raja Yasir Humayun, Provincial Minister for IT and Higher Education said that investing in the high-tech sector in Pakistan would pave new avenues for development. From this sector, citizens can earn income from the internet from home. Chairman PITB Azfar Manzoor said that the MoU was aimed at supporting the local software industry. Usman Nasir, Managing Director, PSEB, said that Software Technology Park has been set up in Gilgit with the help of PITB. We are trying to set up Software Technology Parks in small and remote areas so that educated youth accompany me on the journey of development
