KARACHI– Administrator Karachi Laeeq Ahmed has said that March 23 is a day of commitment and renewal of solidarity. Pakistan Resolution is a global revolutionary document. We need the spirit of Pakistan resolution to embrace national unity, solidarity to become a great nation, the Administrator passed these remarks while talking to media persons after laying a wreath at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam on behalf of the citizens of Karachi. Senior Director Coordination Khalid Khan, Senior Director Culture and Sports Mansoor Qazi, Senior Director Media Management Ali Hassan Sajid, Consultant Culture and Sports Syed Khurshid Shah, Director Sports Kanwar Ayub, and other officials were also present on the occasion.
He wrote in the guest book on the occasion that Quaid-e-Azam was the greatest leader in the world who made the establishment of Pakistan possible. He said that the purpose of the establishment of Pakistan was not limited to the attainment of a single state as Quaid-e-Azam had said that they wanted to establish a free and independent state in which Muslims could live according to the principles of their religion.
The Administrator said that Pakistan is a blessing from Allah, the Almighty and it is a living and glorious miracle. “The resolution presented in Lahore on March 23, 1940, made it possible for the Muslims of the subcontinent to get a separate homeland. March 23 warms our spirits and inspires us to achieve the goal of a stable Pakistan,” he added.
Ahmed said that undoubtedly, a long struggle was waged for the establishment of Pakistan and Muslims made immortal sacrifices for this country. He said that now this country is a political, social, and economic destiny star for Pakistanis. We have to work to the best of our ability for development, he said, adding that the future of Pakistan depends on us and our future depends on Pakistan. He said that the spirit of enthusiasm needs to be maintained so that this country could become one of the developed countries in the world.
The Administrator said that in terms of seasons, Pakistan is blessed with the blessings of Allah as there are vast fields, vast deserts, rivers, canals, seas, and other blessings. Pakistan also has special geographical importance. It is just a matter of working as a great nation and moving the educated youth of Pakistan forward in every walk of life with hard work, dedication, and passion. He said that today it is imperative that we promote love, brotherhood, equality, solidarity, and patriotism in our country and work for this dear homeland with a united spirit
Replying to a query, Ahmed said that Karachi Metropolitan Corporation is trying to develop the city as per dream Quaid-e-Azam. “Addressing reception given in his honor by Karachi Metropolitan Corporation on August 25, 1947, Quaid-e-Azam said that this city is very dear to him and he saw it developing economically and socially,” Ahmed added.
He was of the view that the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation wanted to put into practice the ideas expressed by Quaid-e-Azam. Ahmed said that citizens would see uplift works for infrastructure, plantation, the revival of sports grounds, road construction, and fixing of street lights issues. civil society and citizens of Karachi are cooperating with us in this regard.
