Lahore College For Women University Observes National Women Day

LAHORE– For all the machismo on display in Pakistani society, indeed because of it, it is this country’s women that are its real heroes. Some of them have become synonymous with the Contributions of women for their role in Development of Pakistani Society  — Muhtarma Fatima Jinnah, Benazir Bhutto, Sana Mir etc.

There are countless others in the warp and weft of life in Pakistan who stand up to fairness, leadership and empowerment every single day. National Women’s Day was observed on Feb 12 in Lahore College for Women University to commemorate Women achievers in Pakistan.

Speaking at the event, Ashifa Fatyana Minister Women Development Punjab emphasized the importance of women in formal and informal sectors, as well as the contribution of women towards Pakistan’s economy. She said that Women have an important role in the development of Pakistan. Pakistani women have been seen as a shaheen.

Addressing the National Day of Pakistani Woman Organized by PFDP, SPO,Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza said on the occasion that women have to work hard to make society a place to live. Your hard work will take you to the destination of success.Speaking at the ceremony, Justice Nasira Javed Iqbal said that there is no age of education.

Humans get knowledge of all ages.Mehnaz Rafi said that Tehreek-e-Insaf provided the main role to women in Pakistan.Aisha Butt SP Dolphin Force Lahore said, ”To achieve any place in life, one must have a purpose and constant effort. What we as women consider very good is that we women are nothing less.

Ghulam Fatima Woman Activist said that nothing is possible for women. I have worked continuously for 40 years for the women workers of Brick kiln labor. We have to bring all women together from the top to the bottom so that the country can grow.

Neelam Hussain said that now a days the younger generation, especially women, has  lot of talent. They can do a lot at their own

.Addressing the ceremony, Dr Anjum Zia Head of Department of Mass Communications said that half of Pakistan’s population is comprised of women. Pakistan’s development would not be possible without them. I pay tribute to all women, irrespective of their sector.

Deputy Secretary of Human Rights Muhammad Yusuf, Regional Head of Organization Stability Partnership Development SPO, Shahnawaz Khan, Neelam Hussain, and other speakers highlighted the role of women in Pakistan. Theatrical performance was also presented to mark the day.— PRESS RELEASE
