KMC Repairs Pedestrian Bridge In Front Of Silver Jubilee Gate Of Karachi University

KARACHI– The Karachi Metropolitan Municipality (KMC) has immediately repaired the Pedestrian Bridge in front of the Silver Jubilee Gate of Karachi University. On Tuesday, some newspapers reported that part of the Pedestrian Bridge had collapsed. The video of the bridge went viral. Administrator Karachi Laiq Ahmed took immediate notice of it and directed the Municipal Services Department to repair the pedestrian bridge in view of its importance so that students studying at Karachi University, there was no difficulty in crossing the road.

On Tuesday night, the relevant team of KMC completed the repair work of this pedestrian bridge and this pedestrian bridge was opened to the citizens from Wednesday, the news of this bridge. Citizens expressed pleasant surprise at the immediate notice and repair of the building and some students called the Media Management Department of KMC and thanked Administrator Karachi, saying that if such problems were resolved expeditiously. If it stays, no one can stop the improvement of Karachi’s infrastructure, Administrator Karachi told the concerned department. It also directed that a report be compiled after reviewing all the pedestrian bridges of KMC and which pedestrian bridges need to be repaired, he said, adding that tendering for accuracy of 4 pedestrian bridges.

The process is underway and works on it will begin soon, Karachi Administrator Laiq Ahmed said, adding that his priorities include improving Karachi’s existing infrastructure, including roads, street lights, pedestrian bridges, tree planting, and parks. “We want to improve the existing infrastructure and complete the ongoing projects instead of moving towards new projects,” he said.
