LAHORE MIRROR — Director IT Islamia University Dr Rizwan Majeed has arrested on allegations of corruption and irregularities, informed sources told Lahore Mirror.
The Anti- Corruption Establishment (ACE) arrested Majeed and transferred him to an as yet undisclosed location, the sources added.
When contacted regarding the arrest, the ACE officials refused to give details.
IUB sources confirmed that Director Majeed had been arrested, but IUB does not have the details of the case or the papers filed against him.
It has also been learned from reliable sources that anti-corruption has yet to register an FIR against Majeed, but the preliminary investigation is still ongoing, after which a decision will be made on whether or not to file an FIR.
Raids are being conducted for the arrest of former Finance Director Dr. Abu Bakr, Planning Director Madam Farkhanda, Project Director Shahzad.
Dr Rizwan’s brother Mudassar Majeed was also taken into custody and transferred to the Cantt police station.
