HHRD’S Contribution for Flood-Affected People is Remarkable, Ch Sarwar

LAHORE MIRROR — Former Governor of Punjab, Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar has said that overseas Pakistani always stands on the front line whenever a difficult time came in the country. The services of overseas Pakistani are wonderful even in the recent flood. The Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD) is striving hard to help out flood-affected people in every field. He asserted that all Pakistani NGOs play vital roles in every odd time in which the services of HHRD for humanity are remarkable. Chaudhary Sarwar stressed that the present flood situation in the country demands coordinated efforts for repaid rehabilitation of flood-affected people in the country.

He expressed these views while addressing which was organized for Pakistan American Law Enforcement Society (PALS) delegates in recognition of their remarkable services for flood affectees here on Monday at a local hotel in Lahore. The President of PALES Rohail Khalid, Vice President Asad Anwar, Yasir Basheer, DG Punjab Emergency Services Department (Rescue 1122) Dr Rizwan Naseer, Director Development HHRD Muhammad Ilyas Chaudhary, Director Operation HHRD Sajid Ali Chadhar, senior journalists Sohail Ahmed Warraich, Suleman Ghani and distinguish staff & guest from different walks of life.

Speaking at the occasion, Chief Guest Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar said that the feelings and emotions shared overseas for Pakistan were impressive. He criticized the power rift among political parties for coming into power. All political parties are in government but unfortunately, the people are in miserable conditions and facing deteriorating health, food, and other issues. Being a nation, everybody should come forward for helping flood-affected people. He applauded the services of Rescue 1122 and also shared congratulation on the eve of the 3rd anniversary of UN INSARAG certification. He shared that Rescue 1122 is an admirable Service and a source of great pride for all of us.

Talking to the participants, Director of Development of HHRD Muhammad Ilyas Chaudhary thanked the PALS delegates for donating and for helping the helpless people of Pakistan. He asked that the entire country of the world should take responsibility to help the flood-hit people. It all happened due to environmental changes in the country and it would be a learning for them. Not only the world people will learn to cope with such challenges but also be helpful to Pakistan. The People should take a keen interest in the rehabilitation process to save precious lives. He thanked the Chief Guest for honouring the ceremony and giving his valuable time.

Speaking at the ceremony, DG PESD admired the overseas contribution of Pakistan and HHRD for providing their services to humanity. He stated that Rescue 1122 evacuated immediately the flood affectees, facilitated families and provided effective transportation during flood 2022. Rescue 1122 is only managing over 1000 road traffic crashes daily in which 10 people died while others sustained multiple injuries. Rescue 1122 has established CERTs teams at every union council in Punjab for establishing a resilient, healthy and responsible community in Pakistan. He welcomed the HHRD and said Rescue 1122 is present to collaborate for developing trained communities to manage emergencies at the local level. He also requested the president of PALS to help Pakistan for establishing a licencing system in accordance with international standards to reduce road traffic crashes.

The renowned journalists, Sohail Ahmed Warraich, Sulman Ghani, delegates of PALS, Sajid Ali Chadhar and others also spoke at the occasion and appreciated the HHRD work for humanity.

In the end, Former Governor Punjab Chaudhary Muhammad Services presented shields to the DG Rescue 1122, President PALS, Director of Development HHRD, Journalists and team members of HHRD in recognition of their valuable contribution to flood-affected people.  The Head of Operation HHRD thanked all dignitaries for participating in the ceremony.
