Govt Increases Fines on National Highways and Motorways

LAHORE MIRROR — The Ministry of Communications has increased fines on national highways and motorways across the country.

According to a spokesman of the National Highways and Motorway Police, now the passenger and cargo vehicles without a license will be fined Rs10,000 for violating the speed limit, the motorcycle will be fined Rs1,500, the car will be fined Rs2,500, the trucks will be fined Rs5,000 and the buses will be fined Rs10,000.

According to the spokesman, freight vehicles will be fined Rs10,000 for overloading, motorcycle and car riders will be fined Rs500 for attending mobile phone, wagons Rs2,000, buses and freight vehicles will be fined Rs5,000.

The spokesman says that for driving a motorcycle, car and wagon without registration, a fine of Rs2,000 will be imposed, while a fine of Rs5,000 will be imposed on the driver of a bus and freight vehicle.

IG Motorway Police Sultan Ali Khawaja claims that increasing fines on traffic rules will reduce traffic accidents.
