Farah Gogi Likely to Become Approver Against Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi
LAHORE MIRROR — Former prime minister Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, are grappling with mounting troubles as their close associate, Farhat Shahzadi, also known as Farah Gogi, has begun cooperating with Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and is likely to become approver against the PTI chief.
According to a report by Geo News, a friend of Bushra Bibi has been providing crucial information to the FIA and other authorities, despite being warned not to divulge any details regarding the former ruling party’s leadership.
Adding to the complications, Islamabad has informed the UAE about Farah’s involvement in money laundering and other illicit practices, resulting in her expulsion from the Gulf State. She currently resides in Italy and has been blacklisted, preventing her entry into the UAE due to the serious charges against her.
Farah’s departure from Pakistan coincided with the ousting of Imran Khan’s government, and the incumbent administration accused her of corrupt activities. Subsequently, Pakistani officials sought Interpol’s assistance to bring her back to face charges related to alleged money laundering and other crimes. She has already been declared an absconder by the court in the money laundering case.
A ruling party leader alleges that Farhat Shahzadi played a role in facilitating the sale of a Graff watch set, which was a gift from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman to Pakistan. The watch set was allegedly sold to Dubai-based businessman Umar Farooq Zahoor for a hefty price of $2 million.
The unfolding situation has put Imran Khan and his wife under increased scrutiny, as their former ally’s cooperation with authorities may have far-reaching implications for the PTI chief and his political future.
