FAISALABAD– Two robbers were wounded in an encounter with the Faisalabad police and later apprehended on bypass in Saddar police limits on late Saturday.
City Police Officer Captain (retired) Muhammad Sohail Ch told Lahore Mirror that at 10:30pm the Saddar police station SHO along with Elite Police Force was on patrolling duty on an official vehicle when they received a 15 call about robbery at bypass.
The SHO set up a picket. Policemen deployed at the picket signaled four unknown motorcyclists to stop afterwards. The suspects who were armed with weapons opened fire on policemen upon which Elite personnel retaliated the fire.
During crossfire, the two suspects got wounded and were apprehended. Two other suspects, however, managed to escape. The injured suspects were shifted to DHQ Hospital Faisalabad for treatment.
Police seized one AK 47 and one pistol, snatched motorcycle, some cash and cell phones from the crime scene.

DIG Sohail said the suspects have been identified as robbers with a huge criminal record of dacoities and robberies. Police are further investigating.

A day earlier Samundri police had also arrested three injured robbers after encounter.
The CPO said Faisalabad police will aggressively go after the criminals to knock them out and create sense of security among the people.
