DIG Special Protection Unit Umer Shaikh Visits SPU Control Room at CPO
LAHORE– Deputy Inspector General of Police Special Protection Unit (SPU) Muhammad Umer Shaikh paid a surprise visit to the SPU Control Room at the Center Police Office (CPO) on Wednesday to review working.
DIG Umar Shaikh, speaking on the occasion, said any laxity would not be tolerated on the security of Chinese and other foreigners who are performing their duties on CEPC and Non-CPEC projects.
He gave instructions to Battalion 2 officers to focus on the security of the Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) in Lahore as it is vital installation.
“The project has been completed to a large extent and there would be no compromise on its security until it would be completed fully,” Shaikh said.
“I should be briefed on daily basis about the security arrangements of Chinese and their monitoring through the cameras’ of the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) should be enhanced,” the DIG directed— PRESS RELEASE
