LAHORE– Daal Roti, a Lahore-based charitable organization, has so far distributed food items among 600 needy families and is still planning to approach 100 more families amid the coronavirus outbreak and limited movements due to the lockdown.

Daal Roti is being run by nine friends belonging to the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore. They are attempting to eliminate the unavailability of food among deprived people in Lahore.

As Pakistan is suffering from food shortage constantly, Daal Roti has been distributing one time meal free of cost among the deserving people since 2015 in order to put an end to this ongoing starvation faced by unprivileged people.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Lahore and the lockdown in the city, there is a pause in this generous act.

In this current situation, the Uetians came up with the idea of helping the minimum wage workers in the city by supplying ration bags.

Until now they have provided about 600 needy families with ration bags and are in progress to provide 100 families more so that they could support the needy people preventing the spread of COVID-19.
