KARACHI — Muhammad Ramzan Chhipa, Social Worker and Petron-in-Chief of the Chhipa Foundation has reaffirmed his dedication to combating global warming and environmental pollution in Pakistan.

To mark the country’s 77th Independence Day, Chhipa announced the launch of a nationwide plantation drive, aiming to plant one million saplings across Pakistan in its initial phase.

In a press release issued from the Chhipa Head Office in Karachi, Chhipa expressed his unwavering commitment to this environmental initiative, stressing that the foundation’s tree-planting efforts will not cease after reaching the one-million mark. Instead, the organization will continue its plantation campaigns relentlessly until Pakistan is transformed into a completely green and sustainable nation.

This ambitious endeavour underscores the Chhipa Foundation’s dedication to mitigating the effects of climate change and promoting environmental stewardship in Pakistan.

Speaking at the launch, Chhipa stressed that the issue of tree scarcity is a matter of survival for Pakistan, warning that failure to act may result in the country becoming a desert soon. He urged citizens from all walks of life, particularly the youth and students, to join the campaign and plant saplings.

The nationwide plantation drive is part of Chhipa’s vast vision for a greener Pakistan, and he called on all Pakistanis to join hands in making this vision a reality. The campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of tree plantation and promote collective action to mitigate the effects of environmental pollution.

Chhipa stressed that the focus should be on the benefits that future generations will derive from the trees planted today, rather than immediate gains. He underscored the importance of thinking about tomorrow, rather than just today, and how the plants will provide for our children and grandchildren.

Drawing inspiration from Islamic teachings, Chhipa quoted the Holy Prophet’s saying that “planting a tree is an act of charity” that continues to give back as long as people benefit from it. He highlighted that the individual who plants the tree will receive rewards for as long as the tree provides benefits to others, emphasizing the enduring nature of this selfless act.

By framing the tree plantation drive as an investment in the future and a charitable act, Chhipa aimed to inspire widespread participation and a sense of responsibility among citizens to contribute to a greener, more sustainable Pakistan.

Chhipa emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in this endeavour, urging everyone to fulfil their duty by planting at least one sapling. He made a strong appeal to the nation, emphasizing the significance of this campaign for Pakistan’s future.

Unveiling the slogan for the plantation campaign, Chhipa announced that it would be:

“One Person, One Sapling, Green Pakistan”

Through this inclusive approach, Chhipa aims to create a sense of ownership and responsibility among citizens, inspiring a nationwide movement to combat environmental pollution and promote sustainable development.
