FPCCI Arranges Event To Pay Tribute To Women On Women’s Day
LAHORE – The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) arranged International Women’s Day 2020 event, at FPCCI Lahore office for paying tribute to the achievements of women and to highlight their needs and concerns.
Chief Guest of the event Parveen Sarwar, First Lady of Punjab appreciated women’s role in the economic progress of the country and said we are seeing women’s role in every walk of life and their role in other sectors is praiseworthy.
The goal of development cannot be achieved without the practical participation of women in the economy stated by Parween Sarwar, While appreciating the Regional Chairman FPCCI Dr.Muhammad Arshad and Vice President Roohi Rizwan for organizing a momentous International Women’s Day 2020 event, he said it was encouraging to see corporate sector is working for social sector.
Dr. Muhammad Arshad, Regional Chairman and Vice President FPCCI said women day celebration is an acknowledgment as women are contributing their best in area spheres e.g. politics, the media, the legal profession, commerce and business, banking, information technology and the armed forces.
Speaking on the occasion, Roohi Rizwan, Vice President FPCCI said every day is women day, Women rights are human rights and women empowerment should be encouraged. “Women day is an historic day that demands the need to change our attitudes and approach towards gender discrimination” She added.
Roohi said dream of prosper country cannot be achieved without positive involvement of women in economic activities. She said gender equality is one of the priority areas of human right.
He said it was a welcome sign to see that women were at forefront in all the sectors, including health, education, business, and predicted that by next 15 to 20 years, Pakistan would be ruled by women.
She said that in Pakistan, immense talent existed in youths and women who could play a vital role in the progress of the country.
The speakers gave brief accounts of their achievements and encouraged women of Pakistani descent to work hard and excel in their respective disciplines. Dr.Muhammad Arshad and Roohi Rizwan highlighted FPCCI Role in women empowerment and said FPCCI current leadership is fully focused on gender equality.
