Alhamra Hosts Seminar On ‘Diversity of Pakistan Painting’
LAHORE– A seminar on “Diversity of Pakistan Painting” organized by the Artists Association of Punjab was held here on Saturday in Alhamra Hall 3 at Alhmara Arts Centre, the Mall.
Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mehmood was the chief guest of the seminar while Chairman Artists’ Association of Punjab Mian Ijaz Ul Hassan presided over the seminar.
On the occasion, Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood said that the seminar is an excellent example of artistic thinking.
He stated that the work of our artist is of international standard; in this respect, I, am glad to see that the Artist Association Punjab is encouraging the art and artist in every possible way. Mehmood praised the artists for putting on display brilliant works in the 34th AAP exhibition.
He further said that we truly value the artist community’s services in the promotion of art. Shafqat Mehmood appreciated the Artists’ Association of Punjab and Lahore Arts Council for holding this mega exhibition on a yearly basis.
Chairman Artists’ Association of Punjab Mian Ijaz Ul Hassan said that the services of AAP spanned decades thanks to which the art is being promoted in accordance with modern requirements, but there is a lot of work to be done in this area.
He further said that Artists’ Association of Punjab took this initiative 34 years ago to provide a platform to senior and young artists to display their artworks from any region of the country of any medium and with unique concepts under one roof.
Executive Director Lahore Arts Council Athar Ali Khan said that Alhamra is giving the new generation of artist’s ample opportunities to move their energies in the right direction.
Regarding the 34th annual exhibition of AAP Khan congratulated all the participants for their great artworks and said that Alhamra’s platform always encouraging artists and LAC will continue to play its part in providing all necessary facilities for conducting such kind of exhibitions.
Qudos Mirza, Dr. Rahat Naveed Masood, Fouzia Saeed, Dr. Naila Amir also spoke at the seminar.
On the occasion of the seminar, Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mehmood also saw the 34th annual exhibition of Artists Association of Punjab. This year AAP exhibition has received approximately 300 artworks created by 250 artists from Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Jamshoro, Bhakar, Hyderabad, Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Kasur, Gujrat, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Swabi Faisalabad, Dera Ismail Khan, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Chiniot and many other parts from the country.
