Pakistan’s Aisamul Haq Qureshi has won the mixed doubles title at the ITF Masters World Championships, partnering Germany’s Nina Herrmann.
Aisam and Herrmann defeated Portugal’s top-seeded pairing of Fred Gil and Rita Freitas 6-4, 6-3 in the final to claim the world title.
However, Aisamul Haq and Aqeel Khan were beaten in the men’s doubles final by France’s Jacques Glaes and Jean-Baptiste Renault.
Pakistan finished the championships with four medals — one gold, two silver and one bronze.
Aqeel Khan also secured a bronze medal in the 40-plus mixed doubles event alongside Germany’s Eline Aranas-Roth, while Aisam and Aqeel won silver in the men’s 45-plus doubles category.
