Ahmad Raza Holds Meeting With Transporters For Further Improvements At Bus Stand

LAHORE– Administrator General Bus Stand Badami Bagh Ahmad Raza Butt held meetings with the transporters and staff of bus stand on Thursday to discuss further improvements in the premises of lorry adda, development schemes and better tax collection.

The meetings followed the direction and guidance of the Commissioner Lahore division and clearance of roads, control on illegal stands and strict actions on commission mafia.

All stakeholders were taken into confidence about certain decisions.

It was decided that each bay/stand shall not be allowed more than three buses parked at one time to ensure cleanliness as previously they were parking six buses, which were creating disputes and hurdles in cleanliness.
All vehicles which escape tax receipts by taking wrong routes to avoid check posts shall be followed and impounded for three days.
Each bus parked inside lorry adda at any place other than bays shall be charged with parking fee.
On any bay dispute, all transporters of respective bay shall be called in meeting and decision shall be made in form of written agreement of all parties.
Ahmad Raza Butt told the meeting that the tender of Rs13 million worth sewerage scheme has been flouted and all sewer and storm water drains shall be made before monsoon rains to resolve ponding water issue of lorry adda.

He said new master plan has been devised for GBS Badami Bagh, wherein all facilities shall be ensured as per international stands.
The phase I of master plan of Rs36 million has been approved for sitting hall, fencing, AC Stands and road infrastructure, Butt added.
Meanwhile, the transporters appreciated the efforts of clearance of roads, cleanliness and development schemes for lorry adda.
They committed to ensure tax receipts timely and as philanthropy they agreed to contribute whenever required.— LAHORE MIRROR
