DIG Ops Lahore Presses Officials to Hunt Drug Peddlers Outside Educational Institutes
LAHORE–DIG Operations Lahore Ashfaq Ahmad Khan Monday directed the police officers and officials to launch indiscriminate and vigorous crackdown against drug peddlers particularly involved in selling drugs outside educational institutes.
Ashfaq Khan gave these directions in wake of Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar’s recent orders to initiate anti drugs campaign to save the youth particularly students from becoming addict to drugs.
DIG Operations Lahore Ashfaq Khan said that an effective strategy has been chalked out by Lahore Police in consultation with related departments as well as parents, teachers and administration of educational institutions to save the students from grugs.
He said that it is the collective responsibility of each and every segment of society to extend its support to Lahore Police in elimination of menace of drugs from this city.
Ashfaq Khan said that Lahore police has started strict action against drug peddlers in collaboration of related departmental including Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) and raids are being conducted on daily basis against these anti social elements who try to make our young generation addict of narcotics.
Lahore Police has arranged anti drugs awareness lectures in different educational institutions of the city as well.
DIG Operations Lahore Ashfaq Khan said that the basic purpose of delivering awareness lectures is to make the students aware of fatal damages of using drugs. Students can play important role to propagate this anti drugs awareness campaign properly with their friends.— PRESS HANDOUT
