Lahore District Administration Launches Anti Dengue Week From Monday
LAHORE– The District Administration Lahore Monday kicked off “Anti Dengue week” in the metropolitan city to create awareness among masses so that they could adopt precautionary measures against dengue virus.
Seminars, walks, meet the press ceremony, awareness pamphlets distribution and other activities were held throughout the day in different parts of the Provincial Capital.
Deputy Commissioner Lahore Ms Saleha Saeed visited different areas of the city to create awareness among citizens.
“Meet the Press” ceremony was held at Press Club Lahore in which Commissioner Lahore Asif Bilal Lodhi, renowned singer Abrar-ul-Haq, DC Lahore, Saleha Saeed, MD LWMC Ajmal Bhatti, MD WASA, President Lahore Press Club Arshad Ansari and people belonging to different walks of life participated in it.
Addressing the media persons, speakers said that it is the responsibility of every citizen to keep his / her surrounding neat and clean and to not allow water remain stagnant for a longer period on a spot.
The Commissioner Lahore, Abrar-ul-Haq and DC Lahore said that Punjab government and dengue teams had been adopting all possible measures to avoid dengue out break, however, the mobilization and participation of community in dengue drive is the need of the hour for which all segments of the society must come forward and join hands with District Administration Lahore.
Similarly, a ceremony was held at LWMC office where DC Lahore Saleha Saeed, famous singer Abrar-ul-Haq and MD LWMC Ajmal Bhatti jointly inaugurated the “Dengue week”.
As for as seminars are concerned, a seminar was held at Dial Singh college in which students were briefed about the precautionary measures against dengue virus and put accent on them to be the awareness message carrier and ambassador of dengue virus, the students showed their commitment in creating awareness among general public.
In Tehsil Cantt, Assistant Commissioner Ifat Khan organized awareness walk, which was participated by people belonging different walks of life. Deputy Commissioner has directed all departments to remain vigilant and active throughout the week and arrange different activities for creating awareness.
