DG NAB Lahore Briefed Over Causes For Delay in LDA Avenue-I Project

LAHORE– A delegation comprising officials from the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and Cooperative Department and led by Director General LDA Usman Mouzzam briefed the Director General National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore and his team over reasons for undue delay in LDA Avenue-I Project.

The briefing was called to address the issues and reservations being brought forwarded by all stake holders and to draw solutions for them under law, so the much delayed project may be completed without causing further delay and as a result general public may be able to get benefit.

Briefing over the project, the DG LDA stated that LDA Avenue-I Project covers an area of around 17,771 Kanal land, whereas, five different Housing Societies owing 3,200K land have been demonstrating resistance in transferring of land into Mega project for which role of NAB Lahore is required for settlement. He further stated that LDA is offering plots for balloting to all stakeholders over 30 percent ratio as defined in law.

During briefing, representatives from Chiniot Cooperative Housing Society, Mumtaz Housing Scheme, Islamic Research Scholars Cooperative Housing Society, Board of Revenue Employees Cooperative Housing Society and Punjab Civil Servants Employees Cooperative Housing Society explained their reservations for attaching their lands into LDA’s mega project.

After listening to the stipulations of all stakeholders, the DG NAB Lahore called administration of Ciniot Cooperative Housing Society in next week for briefing as the Society admin had failed to develop and deliver plots to general public since 1987, whereas, Mumtaz Housing Society and Board of Revenue Cooperative Housing Society officials have been directed to adjust their existing issues with LDA within 15 days duration, as per law.

The DG further instructed LDA officials for providing Islamic Research Scholars Cooperative Housing Society administration with complete balloting plan and the later would re-submit the same to LDA within 15 days after taking approval from all board members.

While addressing with LDA officials, DG NAB Lahore advised that complete balloting plans should be handed over to all concerned Societies.

He further stated that each and every legal work must be kept going without any interruption and LDA is responsible to keep NAB informed with every decision taken regarding LDA Avenue-I Project.

He said that further delay in completion of said project would not be tolerated.— PRESS RELEASE
