Fazlur Rehman of JUI-F, Sirajul Haq Of JI Discuss Political, Regional Situation
ISLAMABAD– Jamiat e Ulema e Islam-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman called on the Ameer Jamaat e Islami Pakistan Senator Sirajul Haq at the residence of JI deputy chief Mian Muhammad Aslam in Islamabad on Saturday.
Senior JUI-F leader and former Deputy Chairman of the Senate Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, accompanied the JUI chief.
JI deputy chief Liaqat Baloch, and JI Information Secretary Qaisar Sharif were also present at the meeting.
The two leaders discussed the latest political situation in the country, economic and religious issues besides the overall situation in the region.
Government urged to withdraw increase in prices of food items
Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has called upon the government to withdraw the increase in the prices of Atta, sugar, and cooking oil.
In a statement here, he said, this was no politics but was the issue of the poor man’s life. He said it was shocking that the price of 20 KG wheat flour bag had risen by Rs. One hundred. It seemed that the government wanted to kill the poor by price hike.
The JI chief said it was unfortunate that due to the IMF pressure, the government was not ready to speak on the oppressive taxes and price hike caused by the budget.
He said the prices of atta, sugar, Ghee and pulses had risen tremendously yet the government claimed to have presented a poor man’s budget.— PRESS RELEASE
