LAHOR EMIRROR — At least 11 people were killed and 30 others injured in a suspected suicide blast in the Darazinda area of Dera Ismail Khan, sources said.
According to sources, terrorists targeted a police check post established as part of anti-smuggling operations and security arrangements for a peace festival. The attackers allegedly parked a loader-rickshaw, commonly known as a Qingqi, near the check post, after which a powerful explosion occurred.
The suicide blast in Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan) claimed the lives of 11 people and left 30 others injured. Some of the injured are reportedly in critical condition.
Sources said the deceased included six police personnel, two Customs officials, two women and a child.
Following the explosion, police and personnel from other law-enforcement agencies reached the site, while rescue teams began shifting the injured to nearby hospitals.
The area has been cordoned off by police and other law-enforcement agencies, with rescue and relief operations continuing.
Further details regarding the nature and cause of the explosion have not yet emerged.
