Tehran: Iran’s senior armed forces spokesman, Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, has claimed that around 1,000 Israeli personnel were killed and thousands more wounded during the recent war.
In an interview, Shekarchi also claimed that hundreds of American military personnel were killed in the conflict.
According to the Iranian military spokesman, the United States and Israel are concealing the true number of casualties suffered by their forces. He compared the situation to the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, claiming that the actual number of American military deaths in those conflicts was disclosed only later.
Shekarchi further alleged that the remains of American soldiers killed in combat were also returned to their families at a later stage.
He described the U.S. military as a “Hollywood and propaganda army”, accusing Washington of viewing the resources of Muslim countries as spoils to be seized.
The Iranian military spokesman said the recent conflict had demonstrated to the world that the U.S. military and Israel were less powerful than their public image suggested.
Shekarchi also warned countries that host American military bases, saying they had realized that the United States could not guarantee their security. He questioned how Washington could protect other countries if it was unable to protect itself.
The Iranian commander further vowed that Iran would retaliate for the deaths of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and students at the Minab school, saying revenge would be carried out.
Note: These casualty figures and claims are attributed to the Iranian military spokesman and are not independently verified in the supplied report.
