In the latest development around Pakistan cricket, there are reports that former seamer turned cricket presenter Wasim Akram has declined a key role within the PCB.A report from Cricket Pakistan reported that the apex cricket board in Pakistan approached Wasim Akram to become the CEO of the PCB or personal advisor to the PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi.

the Pakistan veteran turned down the offer because of personal commitments. Notably, Akram would have had to permanently relocate to Lahore, whereas he resides in Karachi and has to travel regularly to Australia because of his family.

Meanwhile, Akram, who often constructively criticises Pakistan and the functioning of the PCB, has promised the Mohsin Naqvi-led board all support and help from his side to better Pakistan cricket.

The report also mentioned that Mohsin Naqvi is looking for a CEO or personal advisor to avoid criticism as he also serves as Federal Minister of Interior and often faces allegations of providing less time to Pakistan cricket.

Meanwhile, after Akram turned down the offer, the PCB approached his former teammate Waqar Younis, who has reportedly accepted the offer and is ready to relocate to Lahore, as he too visits Australia often because of his family.

He met with Naqvi on Monday to discuss various matters , but an official announcement regarding his appointment has yet to be made.
