LAHORE MIRROR — Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) raided Umar Abdullah International (manpower recruitment agent) located at Commercial Market Rawalpindi and sealed it for not paying tax.
The agent was registered with PRA and had a tax liability of Rs36 million as sales tax on services rendered.
Upon default the Authority not only noticed the agent but twice tried to recover the liability via bank attachment but on no recovery Arsalan Tariq (Enforcement Officer) on directions of Commissioner Rawalpindi, Tauqeer Ahmad sujra and Chairperson, Javaid Badar proceeded to seal the premises.
PRA is under going a non tolerance policy towards tax defaulters and hopes that tax payers file their returns on time.
