11 Drug Inspectors Suspended Over Neglect in Vision Impairment Case

LAHORE MIRROR – The Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (PSHD), Punjab has taken a significant step by suspending 11 Drug Inspectors (DI) due to their inaction regarding a serious issue of vision impairment caused by non-standard injections.
According to official sources, the suspension of all 11 drug inspectors (DIs) from eight different districts, including Lahore, Multan, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Kasur, Khanewal, Jhang, and Sahiwal was prompted by their negligence in carrying out their duties.
The suspended drug inspectors include Dr. Sajid Mehmood Khan from Multan, Rana Muhammad Akram from Khanewal, Rao Sajid Irshad from Bahawalnagar, Sanaullah Saif from Kasur, Ameer Shahid, and Farrukh Saleem from Rahim Yar Khan, Ali Raza, and Amjad Farooq from Bahawalpur, Atiya Nawaz from Jhang, as well as Daniyal Elahi Cheema, Sher Mohammad Zaman, and Rana Mohammad Shahid from Lahore.
These suspensions come as a response to their failure to address the issue of non-standard injections that have resulted in serious vision impairment cases.
The department’s actions highlight the gravity of the situation and emphasize the need for accountability in matters concerning public health and safety.
