LAHORE MIRROR – British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has ordered a ban on the American XL Bully dog breed following a series of horrifying attacks.
According to global media reports, Prime Minister Sunak responded to videos depicting recent dog attacks and expressed concerns about the threat posed by American XL dogs to our communities, especially children.
In his video message released on X, the British Prime Minister expressed his deep concern, stating, “The American XL Bully Dog poses a significant danger to our communities, especially our children. I share the nation’s horror at the recent videos we’ve all witnessed. Just yesterday, we witnessed another suspected attack by an Excel Bully Dog, tragically resulting in a fatality.
It’s evident that this isn’t isolated to a few poorly trained dogs; it’s a recurring pattern of behavior that cannot be ignored. Pet owners already have a responsibility to ensure their dogs are under control.”
“I want to reassure the public that we are urgently working on measures to prevent these attacks and safeguard our citizens. Today, I have tasked ministers with bringing together law enforcement and experts to first accurately identify the breed of dog responsible for these attacks, with the intention of subsequently banning it”.
“Currently, it lacks a legal definition, so this crucial initial step must be swift. We will then prohibit the breed under the Dangerous Dogs Act, and new legislation will be enacted by the year’s end. These dogs pose a genuine threat, and I want to assure the public that we will take every necessary action to ensure people’s safety.”
It’s clear the American XL Bully dog is a danger to our communities.
