Chinese Electric Vehicle Company Set to Open Operations in Pakistan
LAHORE MIRROR — A Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer is gearing up to establish an assembly plant for electric cars and open showrooms in Pakistan’s major urban centers.
The Xinjian Jingyi Cheng Group, represented by Assistant Chairman G.U. Xongquan, shared this ambitious plan during a meeting with Amin Ullah Baig, Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) on Thursday. The discussions revolved around Pakistan’s investment prospects.
Chairman Xongquan elaborated that the company’s comprehensive strategy entails the establishment of a fully localized production facility in Pakistan, complemented by an extensive network of showrooms.
Xinjian Jingyi Cheng Group operates across five key sectors:
- Electromechanical and hydraulic
- Light power
- Vehicle
- International commerce
- Production and services
Highlighting the significance of this move, Xongquan pointed out that automobiles are the primary mode of transportation in Pakistan. Escalating global oil prices have led to higher petrol costs, compelling individuals to explore alternative means of commuting.
Xinjian Jingyi Cheng Group is committed to promoting automotive innovation and development by harnessing current technology and integrating available resources. “In the long term, electric vehicles offer substantial fuel cost savings compared to traditional petrol-powered vehicles,” noted Xongquan.
