LAHORE MIRROR — In response to the recent surge in petroleum product prices, Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) spokesperson Firdous Ashiq Awan expressed her concerns.

The former PTI member remarked that the rising prices of the dollar, diesel, and petrol have had a detrimental impact on the country’s economy. She emphasized that the recent shutterdown strikes by the business community signify the frustration and instability within the nation’s political system.

The IPP spokesperson pledged that the IPP is committed to restoring both political and economic stability in the country. She highlighted that IPP President Abdul Aleem Khan and patron-in-chief Jahangir Khan Tareen are dedicated to steering the nation out of its current challenges. Recognizing the severe economic hardships faced by the masses, she affirmed that both Jahangir Tareen and Aleem Khan are fully aware of the people’s struggles.

Last week, Ms. Awan expressed her concern regarding the soaring power bills, emphasizing the immense economic burden on the public due to inflation. She called for urgent attention from the caretaker government to formulate effective strategies to address these pressing issues. Ms. Awan stated that the IPP was established with the aim of resolving the nation’s problems, including the provision of free electricity to citizens consuming up to 300 units, as outlined in the IPP manifesto.

In a separate development, the interim government recently implemented a record-high increase in petrol prices, raising them by Rs14.91 per litre, resulting in a historic price of Rs305.36 per litre. The price of high-speed diesel also saw a substantial hike of Rs18.44, reaching Rs311.84 per litre.
