Military Custody Holds Hassaan Niazi for Trial in Jinnah House Attack, Court Informed
LAHORE MIRROR — Hassaan Niazi, the legal affairs focal person for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and a nephew of Imran Khan, has been transferred to a military court for trial, as indicated in a police report presented to the Lahore High Court.
The investigation pertains to his alleged involvement in the Jinnah House attack case, which ensued following the arrest of PTI Chief Imran Khan in Islamabad. The sequence of events saw Hassaan’s initial arrest in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, followed by his transfer to Quetta Police, and subsequently to the military at their specific request.
Hassaan Niazi has been linked to the attack on Jinnah House as well as the riots that transpired on May 9. The gravity of these allegations has led to his transfer to a military court for further legal proceedings.
In response to his father’s plea for his recovery, the court has intervened to facilitate a meeting between Hassaan and his parents. The court session was adjourned to clarify the logistical details and procedures for this meeting.
In other news pertaining to PTI and Imran Khan, both Imran Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi have had their mobile phones submitted for forensic examination. These phones were seized during Imran Khan’s arrest on August 5th.
