Imran Khan Deemed Fit in Medical Exam, Granted B Class Facilities in Attock Jail
Area around prison declared ‘red zone’, media coverage barred
LAHORE MIRROR — Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan was arrested from his Zaman Park residence in Lahore on Saturday and subsequently transferred to Attock Jail.
Despite some speculations about his health, Imran Khan was declared fit during his medical examination. Authorities have provided him with all facilities under the ‘B Class’ category.
In response to the arrest, security measures around Attock District Jail have been significantly enhanced. The entire area surrounding the jail has been designated a ‘red zone’, and media coverage has been strictly prohibited. Elite Force personnel have been deployed to ensure maximum security. Additionally, the rear wall of the jail has been placed on high alert.
According to sources, a total of three teams were involved in the operation to apprehend the former premier. Lahore Crimes Investigation Agency SSP Malik Liaquat was responsible for Imran Khan’s initial arrest and subsequently handed him over to the Lahore DIG (Operations).
Following the initial arrest, DIG (Operations) Nasir Rizvi traveled with Imran Khan from Lahore to the capital city. Near Kot Momin, Imran Khan was handed over to Islamabad SSP (Operations) Malik Jamil Zafar. Notably, all officials’ mobile phones were confiscated before the handover process, including those of senior police officers.
At 7 pm, SSP Operations Jamil Zafar officially handed over Imran Khan to the Attock district police chief. Subsequently, Attock DPO Sardar Ghayas Gul transferred the former prime minister to the jail authorities.
The entire process has been carried out with high levels of security and confidentiality, reflecting the gravity of the situation. As the situation unfolds, authorities are closely monitoring the events and ensuring the safety and security of all involved parties.
