ODI World Cup 2023: Pakistan to Face Rival India at Narendra Modi Stadium
LAHORE MIRROR — The Pakistan cricket team will face the Indian team on October 15 at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad during the group stage of the ODI World Cup 2023.
It is noteworthy here that the match was scheduled on October 14 after the Pakistan Cricket Board agreed to the rescheduling of its match against India.
However, Indian security agencies sent advice to the government saying the schedule should be changed. While the date of the match has been changed, there was no change in the venue and Narendra Modi Stadium will host the high-voltage match.
Similarly, the schedule for the Pakistan-Sri Lanka match has also been changed, according to which the green team will play against Sri Lanka on October 10 in Hyderabad, two days earlier than the original schedule.
After the approval from the PCB, the Board of Control for Cricket in India will now release an updated schedule after consultations with the International Cricket Council.
Uncertainties loom around Pakistan’s participation in the major event of cricket. A high-profile committee meeting was summoned for August 3 to discuss the green team’s participation in the ICC World Cup in India.
