LAHORE MIRROR — Authorities in Abu Dhabi are currently investigating a female lawyer who stands accused of fabricating a court case to gain popularity on social media.

The lawyer allegedly posted a video on her social media account discussing a supposed UAE court ruling, which involved a son suing his father over an insult. However, it has been revealed that no such case ever took place.

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department disclosed that the lawyer has confessed to inventing the entire story with the aim of boosting her social media followers. Her actions have raised serious concerns, leading to potential legal consequences for spreading false information and rumors online.

According to UAE’s cybercrime laws, which are known for their strict stance against disseminating misinformation, the lawyer could face severe penalties. These may include a one-year prison sentence and a substantial fine of AED 100,000.

The Judicial Department has issued a warning to the public, urging them not to share or circulate videos without verifying their content with official sources beforehand. Spreading unfounded information can have serious legal ramifications, and it is essential to exercise caution and responsibility while using social media platforms.
