Ashura Processions Held Peacefully Across Pakistan Amid Tight Security

LAHORE MIRROR — Countrywide mourning processions in connection with Yaum-e-Ashur, the tenth of Muharram-ul-Haram, concluded peacefully on Saturday night with tight security measures in place.
The processions were held to pay homage to Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his devoted companions who made the supreme sacrifice in Karbala. This day serves as a poignant reminder of the unwavering resilience of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), the beloved grandson of the Prophet (PBUH), and his companions who bravely defended Islam against opposition and cruelty.
Major cities and towns witnessed solemn processions to commemorate this historic day. Scholars and orators delivered sermons, shedding light on various aspects of the Karbala tragedy.
Elaborate security arrangements were made across the country to ensure the safety of mourners during the processions. Mobile phone services were suspended in some areas as a precautionary measure.
In Karachi, Majalis were held throughout the city, and various mourning processions, including Tazia and Zuljinnah processions, were taken out. The main procession culminated at Imambargah Hussainian Iranian Kharadar after passing through its traditional routes.
Similarly, in Lahore, the main Zul-Jinnah procession commenced from Nisar Haveli, Mochi Gate, and terminated at Karbala Gamay Shah late at night, passing through its traditional route.
In Rawalpindi, the main procession started from Imambargah Colonel Maqbool Hussain and concluded at Qadeemi Imambargah after following its customary route.
Processions of Tazia, Alam, and Zuljinah were also observed in other cities and districts across the country, with strict security measures in place to ensure public safety.
In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Taazia, Alam, and Zuljinnah processions were taken out in all major and minor cities. The main procession commenced from Markazi Imam Bargah Pir EIam Shah Bukhari.
In Gilgit, the main procession started from the Central Mosque and concluded at the same place later in the afternoon. Special security arrangements were made by the Gilgit Baltistan administration for the protection of processions.
The day was marked with prayers, mourning, and reflections on the sacrifices made by Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions. Security personnel were deployed in significant numbers across the country to maintain peace and order during the commemorations.
