LAHORE MIRROR — Punjab’s caretaker cabinet, led by Mohsin Naqvi, has taken several significant decisions.
According to the details, the government officials in grades 1-16 will see a 35% salary increase, while grades 17-22 employees will get a 30% hike. Pensioners will also receive a 17.5% increase in their pensions. To combat sugar smuggling and stabilize prices, lasting measures will be implemented.
In terms of public safety, the cabinet approved the purchase of two helicopters for Rescue 1122, one for air ambulance services and the other for flood and rescue operations. Evacuation plans for areas at risk of flooding along the River Ravi were also discussed.
The cabinet formed the Board of Management for the Institute of Public Health under the Punjab Medical and Health Institution Act 2023. Additionally, approvals were given for the construction of the Multan railways gate, a flyover on the Shujabad expressway, and an amendment to simplify the Excise and Taxation transfer policy for the public’s convenience.
CM Naqvi praised the government and military’s strategies in handling rescue operations during floods and maintaining law and order during Muharram.
