NTDC hires 100 local security guards to safeguard transmission lines

LAHORE MIRROR — National Transmission and Despatch Company Limited (NTDC) has taken a proactive approach to tackle the increasing theft of transmission line material in the South region by hiring 100 local security guards from a private security agency. These guards will be responsible for protecting the transmission lines.

An oath-taking ceremony was conducted at the Hyderabad Club, where the Managing Director of NTDC, Engr Dr Rana Abdul Jabbar Khan, administered the oath to the security guards via video link. During his speech, Dr Rana Abdul Jabbar Khan highlighted the importance of this historic step in ensuring the security of transmission lines in theft-prone areas of Sindh. He also emphasized that the local security guards, being from the same areas, will help establish a local intelligence network to identify the culprits involved in such unlawful activities. This project serves as a pilot and its success will pave the way for future initiatives, leading to the hiring of more security personnel.

Dr Rana Abdul Jabbar Khan urged the security guards to exhibit loyalty and selfless dedication towards achieving NTDC’s objectives. The Chief Security Officer of NTDC and the General Manager (Asset Management) South also expressed their thoughts, highlighting the significance of implementing Dr Rana Abdul Jabbar Khan’s dynamic vision for the protection of transmission lines.

The hiring of these security guards marks a major milestone in mitigating theft and ensuring the uninterrupted operation of NTDC infrastructure. NTDC anticipates positive outcomes from this pilot project and looks forward to exploring further initiatives for the betterment of the company.
