SNGPL Teams Tighten the Noose Around Gas Thieves in KP, Disconnect Illegal Connections

PESHAWAR/MARDAN– The SNGPL’s Special Task Force on UFG control based at head-office, has conducted series of successful raids in Mardan and Peshawar regions and caught many direct use/bypass cases.

The Task Force first targeted Kandar Village of Nowshera and caught a bypass line installed on 2 inch diameter supply main, delivering gas to more than 30 houses.

In other raid, the task force also caught 9 direct use cases red handed, through which gas was being pilfered and supplied in more than 20 houses located in Kandar village of Nowshera. The operation continued till late night and all direct use pipes and bypass were removed and lines were repaired on the spot.

Gas theft

In continuation of their raids, the task force went in the area of District Karrak of Tehsil Banda Daud Shah and caught a Plaster of Paris manufacturing industrial unit red handed, that was involved in gas theft.

The pilfered gas was being used in the Plaster of Paris manufacturing unit. Plastic pipes being used in gas pilferage was recovered and bypass was removed on the spot.

The next raid was conducted in BD Shah of district Karrak. As many four bypass cases were detected through which gas was being used in four hotels operational at commercial level.

The operation continued late at night, bypasses were removed and line repairing was also carried out on spot.

The cases are being processed for booking of volume as per SOPs.

Moreover, application in the local police stations have also been submitted for lodging FIRs against gas pilferers.— PRESS RELEASE
